I felt I was at the end of my rope. I gave up on my insurance company paying for the Lap Band surgery and was about to pay 17K for the surgery with another doctor. In doing my research I stumbled upon the www.lapbandrockies.com website and found Dr Kirshenbaum. I was so happy that he would do the service for less than 10K.

I weighed 366 pounds with a BMI of 52.5. I had hypertension, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, arthritis in my ankle and was on the verge of getting type II diabetes.
I had absolutely no energy. The arthritis in my ankle was preventing me from walking more than 10 minutes without pain and I was starting to hide from the world because of my weight. I was not happy at all. I had to do something and do something quick. I felt if I didn't do something, I was headed for an early grave.

I met Dr Kirshenbaum and his staff on 7/26/07 and scheduled my surgery for 8/29/07. I started the pre-opt diet on 8/06/07 and lost 14 pounds. I followed all the rules from the nutritionist Paula Peirce and have done a great job of loosing the weight and keeping it off!

I have lost 104 pounds and I currently weigh 262 pounds with a BMI of 37.5. At this time I am averaging 2.7 pounds per week. I am a work in progress right now and I still have more weight to loose. I know I will achieve my goal easily with the support of Dr. Kirshenbaum and his staff.

I now have so much more energy in everything I do. I take 45 minute walks at least 4 times a week. This is something I couldn't do pre-surgery. I am now off the hypertension medicine. I still have my cholesterol medicine probably because of genetics. I have lowered my settings for my sleep apnea machine and hope to be off it in the future. I am more of an active person and my attitude on life is much better. My life is now much more rewarding. If you want to peek in on my current progress go to www.obesityhelp.com/member/jtown01

Dr Kirshenbaum's team has been nothing but top notch! They have helped me throughout this process and will continue to do so through my maintenance. Thank you so much for giving me my life back!
